The uniqueness of the property, and the spirit of Donald Ross have inspired the CRCC membership to commit to a course restoration.
The members have retained the services of renowned golf course architect and “Ross Restorer” Ron Prichard, who has developed an extensive Golf Course Master Plan. Mr. Prichard has been frequently called upon to “channel” Donald Ross and has received numerous rave reviews for his work at locales such as Aronimink, Skokie Country Club and Minikahda among others.
Mr. Prichard’s plan will serve as a blueprint for the course and other future improvements to simultaneously restore the spirit of Donald Ross and enhance contemporary playability of the iconic 1915 Ross design. This is an exciting step in the evolution of the Cedar Rapids Country Club and will pay playing dividends for decades to come.
The restoration is expected to be completed the Fall of 2015. The full 18 holes are scheduled to open for play in May, 2016.
